As a Commissioning & Energy Specialist in New York, you will lead and perform all commissioning activities, including testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance), equipment and systems start‑up, and ensure a safe, functional environment that meets design requirements and stakeholder expectations. Projects will span new construction, renovations, existing building commissioning, and asset management.
You will work directly with Jacobs clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to achieve optimal outcomes for owners, focusing on operational performance and efficiency. You will also be involved in energy projects such as audits, efficiency studies, and renewable energy development to improve client performance.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- At least 10 years of experience in commissioning, design, or construction management with a focus on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or building envelope systems
- Working knowledge of building code requirements
- Ability to travel up to 50%; travel may include multi‑week field assignments and periodic long‑term assignments
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or building envelope systems
- Understanding of the construction process
- Experience in mission‑critical/data center construction and/or operation
- Industry‑recognized commissioning certification
- Professional Engineer licensure or Engineer‑In‑Training certification
- Industry‑recognized energy management certification
- Current or past security clearance
- LEED or other sustainability certification
