Job DescriptionBradford Construction, a BRAVO Group company, currently has an opportunity for an experienced professional to support one of our NYC public agency clients. The position will work onsite from our client's office in Long Island City, Queens, and will be eligible for hybrid work after 90 days.
Key Responsibilities- Develop test fits and feasibility studies for new buildings and additions. Including creative solutions such as vertical additions requiring significant architectural and structural analysis.
- Analyze land use regulations, NYC Construction Codes, NYC Zoning Resolution, and other applicable requirements for proposed sites.
- Conduct site observations and prepare field reports.
- Present studies to an interdisciplinary committee of internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical assistance for Real Estate, Legal, and Capital Plan Management in negotiations with developers.
- Engage with developers and other stakeholders in pre-design meetings for mixed‑use projects.
- Perform scope and design review of new and renovation projects at all phase submissions.
- Work with a wide range of technical, professional, managerial and support personnel, as well as outside consultants, contractors, vendors and various government agencies.
- Assist in preparing new design standards and procedures.
- Handle multiple projects at the same time.
- Serve as a member of project teams.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in drafting plans and sections in AutoCAD, interpreting NYC Zoning Resolution and NYC Construction Codes.
- Strong understanding of public sector design standards, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, and Adobe InDesign.
- Registered Architect (RA) in the State of New York is preferred.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
