Job Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Chief, the CADD Technician will produce various Land Survey Map deliverables for DDC capital construction projects—including Topographical/Property Line, Damage/Acquisition, Highway/Sewer Plan, and Profile maps—using AutoCAD, Carlson, or Civil 3D applications.
The CADD Technician will also review all completed maps for accuracy, completeness, and conformity with established standards, prepare project progress reports, attend meetings, and assist in preparing presentations.
Minimum Qualifications- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in surveying, surveying engineering, surveying engineering technology, or similar surveying‑related majors, and two years of full‑time satisfactory land surveying experience;
- An associate degree from an accredited college or university in the surveying‑related majors listed in “1” above, and four years of full‑time satisfactory experience as described in “1” above;
- A four‑year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and six years of full‑time satisfactory experience as described in “1” above;
- A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York, to be maintained for the duration of employment.
To be assigned to Assignment Level I‑B, individuals must have at least an additional year of experience, for a minimum of three years of full‑time satisfactory experience as described under Qualification Requirement “1” above.
To be assigned to Assignment Level II, individuals must have two additional years of experience for a minimum of four years of full‑time satisfactory experience as described under Qualification Requirement “1” above.
To be assigned to Assignment Level III, individuals must have three additional years of experience for a minimum of five years of full‑time satisfactory experience as described under Qualification Requirement “1” above and must meet the “License Requirements” described below.
Additional License RequirementRegistration as a New York State Land Surveyor is required for appointment to Assignment Level III. To be assigned to officially sign off on land surveying work, a Surveyor—Assignment Level II—must be a registered New York State Land Surveyor.
Preferred SkillsCandidates should have the minimum experience requirements listed above in the field of land surveying or civil engineering and be familiar with the land surveying practices and procedures in the five boroughs of New York City. Candidates must be proficient in all aspects of CADD and able to read and understand as‑built and/or record information from various utility sources. Working knowledge of Civil 3D is a plus.
Eligibilityand Work Authorization
All candidates must be currently authorized to work full‑time in the United States (U.S.). In compliance with Public Law 99‑603, candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC is unable to support or sponsor any visa application or visa extension, including but not limited to OPT/STEM visas, H‑1B visas, F‑1 practical training, permanent residence sponsorship, or any proposed change of visa type.
Candidates must have proper work authorization when an employment offer is made.
Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education‑recognized accredited institution. Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service.

Salary: $72,531.00 – $83,411.00
