Our client is hiring for a full-time Field Technical Representative in New York City to support a company specializing in advanced elevator display and communication systems. This position is rooted in hands‑on, on‑site support, focusing on diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network‑related issues while serving as the primary technical contact in the field.

RequiredSkills & Experience
- Must currently live within one of the five boroughs of New York City
- EDM “T” License or equivalent required; EDM “D” License considered a plus
- 1–2 years of direct, hands‑on field service experience in a customer‑facing role
- Strong ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues
- Skilled in using electrical testing tools such as digital multimeters to measure voltage, current, and resistance
- Solid understanding of electrical safety standards, including working with both line voltage and low‑voltage systems
- At least 2 years of hands‑on networking experience, including routers, managed switches, and firewall configuration
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as DHCP, static IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, and TCP vs. UDP
- Ability to interpret system logs and error messages for troubleshooting
- Experience performing firmware upgrades, replacing hardware components, and executing recovery processes
- Organized approach to documenting issues and working within ticketing systems (e.g., Jira or similar)
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% across the U.S.
- Must pass required background checks (credit and criminal)
- Exposure to elevator‑related electronics such as PI boards, hall boards, and controller wiring
- Familiarity with serial communication or CAN bus protocols
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Basic knowledge of elevator safety standards (ASME A17.1 / CSA B44)
- Experience performing site surveys and verifying installations
