Scope of Position
Plan, staff and develop the Sustaining Engineering department to operate more efficiently and effectively in support of production needs and support. Resulting in, amongst other things: reduced product delivery lead time, improved BOM accuracy, and improved intradepartmental communication and coordination. A strong focus on drawing accuracy and deliverable timeliness and overall productivity will all be key measures for success in this position.
PrimaryJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify the necessity and define paths for redesigning and/or maintaining products for reasons such as product improvement, revised standards, cost reductions, economies of scale considerations, and standardization for configuration and management simplicity.
- Manage and prioritize the Engineering Change Order, Product Improvement, and Value Add Engineering processes, including orchestrating engineering and/or production validations as required.
- Review, determine, and delegate actions on Product Improvement requests, prioritizing based on safety, performance, or other urgency.
- Lead functional team meetings to manage project completion and success.
- Oversee and coordinate impacts to BOM, drawings, operations, marketing, and other relevant areas.
- Manage and organize filing, structuring both electronic and hard‑copy records as required.
- Manage BOM and Parts master to keep validated and released designs current.
- Maintain and enforce sustaining engineering and design standards and processes.
- Set and monitor sustaining engineering project timelines.
- Administer the CAD system and provide Solid Works setup guidance.
- Drive success measurement through metrics and KPIs.
- Supervise, direct, and monitor daily work priorities of the Engineering Team.
- Assume responsibility for additional projects and duties assigned by the Sr. Sustaining Engineering Manager or company management.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Solid Works required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Initiative and resourcefulness.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices.
- Successful completion of employment eligibility verification, background checks, drug screening, and required pre‑employment testing.
- Master’s degree in engineering.

On‑site at a manufacturing facility in Blauvelt, NY. Majority of duties performed in an office environment; occasional presence on the manufacturing floor is required. PPE must be worn as appropriate. Work hours are Monday through Friday, as communicated by the manager.
Physical Requirements- Remain seated at a desk for extended periods.
- Perform repetitive tasks such as typing or using a mouse.

- Read documents and perform data entry tasks using a computer.
- Communicate clearly in meetings or phone calls.
- Operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.
- Occasionally lift and carry light objects such as office supplies or small equipment.
- Wear personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
Expected salary range: $114k–$124k yearly.
