Technical Writer - Vacuum Systems

Akkodis is seeking a Technical Writer - Vacuum Systems for a Contract to Hire with a client in Fairport, NY (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will Develops and standardizes detailed technical documentation for vacuum-based systems, including creating system operation guides and process flow content.

Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Technical Writer - Vacuum Systems Job Responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for vacuum-based systems, including pumps, chambers, and pressure systems.
• Create clear process documentation explaining system operations, sub-systems, and full machine workflows.
• Collaborate with process engineers and technicians to gather data and validate technical accuracy.
• Produce 2D diagrams and visual representations to support system understanding and training.
• Standardize documentation across production cells to enable scalability and consistency.
• Identify and fill documentation gaps, organizing content for long-term usability and knowledge transfer.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in technical documentation, preferably in vacuum systems or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of vacuum systems, pressure measurement, and basic fluid dynamics.
• Proven ability to create clear, structured documentation and translate complex systems into user-friendly formats.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
