Hiring for a Party Crew Chief to lead field survey operations on complex infrastructure, transportation, and development projects throughout NYC.
You’ll work alongside a collaborative team of surveyors, engineers, and project managers on high‑visibility projects that shape the built environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead and manage daily field survey operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety
Execute boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction layout, and as‑built surveys
Interpret plans, specifications, and control data to guide field crews
Operate and maintain survey equipment (robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, data collectors)
Serve as the primary field point of contact for project teams and inspectors
Mentor junior crew members and uphold best practices in the field
Document field activities clearly and accurately for office coordination
What We’re Looking For
3-5+ years of surveying experience in NYC as Survey Party/Crew Chief, total 5-10 years of experience overall
Larger-scale prior project experience is preferred
Experience with topographical surveys, boundary's, utility surveys, construction layout, and GPS
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson software
Strong communication skills and leadership presence in the field
Valid driver’s license; ability to travel locally as needed

About the Role
We are looking for a Survey Project Manager to lead survey projects from planning through delivery, supporting major infrastructure, transportation, and development initiatives across the NYC region. This role blends technical expertise with client leadership and is ideal for someone who enjoys owning outcomes and driving project success.
You’ll play a critical role in coordinating field and office teams, managing schedules and budgets, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
Manage survey projects through all phases, from proposal support to final deliverables
Coordinate field crews, office staff, and subcontractors to meet project schedules
Review and QA/QC survey data, plans, and reports
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and project partners
Develop scopes, schedules, and cost controls to support project profitability
Support business development efforts through technical insight and client relationships
Mentor survey staff and contribute to team growth and development
What We’re Looking For
7+ years of land surveying experience, including project management responsibility
Strong technical knowledge of boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys
Experience managing projects in dense urban or infrastructure environments
Familiarity with NYC agencies, standards, and approval processes a plus
Professional licensure (PLS) or progress toward licensure preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and client‑facing skills

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
Full benefits package; medical, vision, dental, 401k, bonus and tuition/certification reimbursements.
