The Opportunity
PAE is seeking a visionary and highly technical Senior Electrical Engineer in our New York office to provide high-level project leadership and technical mastery within our electrical department.
In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of complex building projects, serving as a primary technical resource and a mentor to junior staff. As a potential Engineer of Record (EOR), you will leverage your expertise in power distribution, lighting design, and advanced system analysis to deliver innovative, code‑compliant solutions while fostering strong, long‑term relationships with clients and partners.

What You’ll Do- Lead and manage project teams, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Prepare deliverable documents, including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Attend client meetings and coordinate efforts between external and internal project teams.
- Apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete projects from concepts through construction.
- Design electrical system distribution, lighting, and power systems.
- Assemble and lead effective project teams.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration and ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.
- Oversee engineering calculations and equipment selection.
- Conduct site visits and issue reports.
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship for staff.
- Update master specifications and standards, and improve company processes.
- Perform distribution load flow, short circuit, and arc flash energy analysis using Easy Power.
- Develop client relationships.
- Apply the project quality management plan (QMP).
- Possibly serve as Project Manager or Engineer of Record with approval.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Relevant professional credential (e.g., PE).
- 1–3 years of electrical lead experience or 6–10 years of related work experience.
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Serve as a technical resource for the company.
- Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts and the ability to communicate design options.
- Strong delegation skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit/AutoCAD, and Easy Power.
Hiring Base Salary Range: $118,100 – $147,600 annual. Eligible for overtime pay at time and a half.
