VHB's Site Investigation & Remediation team is seeking an Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our New York City office. At VHB, our Site Investigation & Remediation (SI&R) practice is dedicated to delivering comprehensive services that investigate, manage and mitigate environmental risks while satisfying regulatory requirements and complex project variables. Join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing how we deliver technically excellent and thoughtful SI&R services to our clients. You'll be instrumental in creating cost-effective, multi-disciplinary solutions and providing essential SI&R support for some of Vermont's most notable development and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs
- Provide hands‑on support during field exploration and testing
- Interpret and communicate investigation findings
- Leverage technology to support data management and visualization
- Participate in environmental due diligence activities
- Write technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda
- Travel within New York City, New York State, and nearby states as required
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Self‑motivated with problem‑solving and independent work abilities
- Document work in a detailed manner and keep data organized
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and EQuIS or other laboratory data‑management software
- Ability to work in office and field settings
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self‑motivated with problem‑solving and independent work abilities
- Document work in a detailed manner and keep data organized
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and EQuIS or other laboratory data‑management software
- Phase I + II ESA experience
- BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 1‑3 years of professional environmental/remediation consulting experience
- OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment
- Valid driver's license
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City and New Jersey is $71,000–80,000.
