Position: Construction Manager in New York
Location: New York

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Owner’s Representative for a rail modernization project, overseeing ADA‑accessible platforms, commuter facilities, and upgraded communications and safety systems.
  • Ensure that schedules, budgets, RFI's, and other key project constraints are properly tracked, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements.
  • Direct site and civil construction, platform erection, ADA elements, drainage, utilities, and systems installations.
  • Coordinate with LIRR Operations, utilities, agencies, and community stakeholders to minimize service disruptions.
  • Lead quality control and safety oversight, inspections, testing, SWPPP compliance, and ROW protocol enforcement, and support commissioning, system integration testing, project closeout, and post‑cutover demolition of the old station.
  • Lead project closeout activities including punch‑list management, turnover of spare parts and documentation, as‑built drawing verification, warranty tracking, and coordination of final inspections and agency signoffs to ensure a smooth and compliant turnover.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in civil/rail infrastructure projects, including construction or construction management roles.
  • Proven experience supporting or leading MTA, LIRR, or rail/transit projects, including station, platform, or track‑related work.
  • Knowledge of rail systems construction, including civil/site work, structural elements, ADA accessibility, drainage, utilities, and communications/safety systems.
  • Strong field experience overseeing construction inspections, quality control, safety compliance, and system integration/commissioning.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
  • Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption, including privacy‑by‑design and safe use of tools.
