Job Summary

TYLin’s Buildings team brings creativity and technical excellence to new and existing buildings around the world. Our primary services, structural engineering for buildings, include new construction projects as well as renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. Within that broad range, we offer further expertise in architectural services, code consulting, façade engineering, lightweight structures, and construction support services.

We are seeking an Associate to join our TYLin | Buildings team in New York City.

• Lead an engineering team for delivery of buildings (structural) projects through all design phases, from conceptual to detailed design.
• Perform design and analysis of complex building structures, prepare plans and specifications in accordance with applicable standards.
• Conduct quality control activities for independent review and checking of structural designs.
• Manage and mentor junior, intermediate and senior engineers, overseeing staff utilization and providing time‑keeping approval.
• Interface with clients for project delivery.
• Assist with business development and pursuit of projects.
• Lead proposal preparation for design projects and attend interviews.
• Perform other assignments as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineering License (P.E. or S.E.)
• 10–15+ years of experience in executing buildings structural engineering projects, with exposure to new construction and existing buildings (renovations/additions).
• Proven knowledge of US building codes and referenced standards such as ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, etc., and other applicable regulations.
• Proven track record of winning work and building client relationships.
• Strong team management and mentoring skills.

TYLin is committed to pay equity. The base compensation range for this position is $135,000 – $190,000 annually for the local market.
