In this role, you will perform the following responsibilities:
- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques.
- Work on bridge projects (steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, box culvert, and interchange design for highway projects) and/or transit projects (elevated and/or underground stations and line structures).
- Select standard engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations; assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
- Interface with clients depending on the role on the project.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural design.
- Preference is given to local candidates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., Professional Engineer – PE or P.Eng).
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee‑owned culture is a must.
