Final CDM Smith is looking for an entry‑level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This position presents an excellent opportunity for early‑career candidates to apply their engineering skills to innovative and sustainable water projects and to grow within a dynamic team. In this role, you will support the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and associated infrastructure.
Operating under supervision, you will ensure designs meet client specifications and comply with federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Responsibilities include conducting site assessments, adjusting design parameters as needed, and conducting water quality analyses and modeling. You will also contribute to technical report preparation, documentation, and collaborate on presentations for client meetings and industry conferences. New team members will also assist in creating documents and presentations using tools like ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other software.
Additionally, there may be opportunities to participate in fieldwork supporting our construction management activities, providing a comprehensive project lifecycle experience.
[ENVIRONMENT] Final CDM Smith is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our Environmental Services team! As part of our team, you’ll perform essential engineering tasks related to remediation sites. Your responsibilities will include reviewing shop drawings, developing engineering specifications, conducting fieldwork, and creating designs to meet client project requirements. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing remediation documents, including draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations, ensuring that firm policies and practices are followed on all projects.
Additionally, you may conduct site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure projects are aligned with client and location specifications. Additionally, you could contribute to technical knowledge management (TKM) through white papers and design documentation of new or special case designs and studies and you may collaborate on conference materials like posters or presentations.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 1 year of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills And AbilitiesIntermediate knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Knowledge of engineering principles of design. Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.). Good written and verbal communication skills.
