Field Engineer Trainee

Job Summary:

The Field Engineer Trainee (EIT) will receive hands‑on training around the hydraulic fracturing (HF) wellsite, develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful as a Field Engineer, and prepare for a transition into the Remote Operations Center (ROC).

• Learn how to operate equipment and develop a working knowledge of operations at a HF wellsite.
• Work with the Field Engineers to assist with pre‑job planning.
• Decipher and utilize the reports that Operations relies on during each job (treatment reports, material trackers, pump schedules, etc.).
• Develop skills needed for technical interpretation of wellsite treatment and chemical plots.
• Work in the lab learning tests that occur prior to each job (water analysis, flow loops, acid titration, break tests, etc.).
• Learn creation and operation of the fluid systems for slick water, linear, and crosslink systems.
• Work under the guidance of the ROC Engineers to develop an understanding of ROC roles and responsibilities.
• Upon completion of a job, work alongside the ROC Engineers to learn preparation of wellsite post‑job reports and debriefings for presentation to customers and other involved parties.
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE safety training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, required (Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering discipline preferred).
• Willing to be assertive and speak up about unsafe work practices.
• Must be a critical thinker who is adept at learning new skills and able to problem‑solve proactively and reactively.
• Able to keep an organized computer workspace, maintain proper digital record keeping, and understand how to name files for quick access and sharing.
• Must be a team player who exhibits a personal commitment to learning and self‑improvement.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively interact with supervisors and personnel at all levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work‑related software.

The role requires regular sitting, standing, or walking; use of hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; stooping or bending; and talking or hearing. Work environments may involve moderate to high noise levels and exposure to extreme weather conditions while performing major duties.
