Manufacturing Engineer

Plans, coordinates and directs the manufacturing process as it relates to producing product on a Davenport multi-spindle screw machine.

Training is provided to further the knowledge of manufacturing engineering specific to company policies and standards as well as other areas of the business.

Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Conducts engineering activities within the department including design and drawing part prints, process layouts, tooling and gauges.

Confers with engineering personnel to provide cycle time estimates and process design for new quoting opportunities.

Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Confers with engineering and production teams to solve performance/operational issues to improve operational efficiency.

Ability to read and translate customer blueprints including; raw materials, secondary processes and geometric tolerancing is required.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Cadkey, Autocad, Key Creator, Solid Works) is required.

Develops corrective actions to findings from internal and external quality audits.

Experience with internal audits and familiarity with quality standards including; IATF , ISO  and AS9100D is required.

Minimum Experience:

5 years related manufacturing engineering experience.

Ability to work collaboratively to solve problems relative to area of responsibility.

Ability to adhere to safety rules, policy and procedures.
