We are hiring a Product Lighting Engineer. The Product Lighting Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, testing, and manufacturability of lighting products and systems. This role combines electrical engineering principles with LED technology to deliver efficient, safe, and high-quality lighting solutions across commercial, residential, and specialty applications.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop lighting products using CAD tools such as Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Create cutsheets, drawing submittals, and installation drawings
- Develop and test prototypes, including photometric and electrical validation
- Perform root cause analysis and implement design improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, sales, and overseas partners
- Manage technical aspects of small- to mid-scale projects
- Ensure compliance with UL and ETL standards and coordinate certification processes
- Support manufacturing efforts including material selection, BOM management, and cost optimization
- Provide technical support to internal teams and assist with customer issue resolution
- Stay current with emerging lighting technologies and contribute to product innovation
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- 3–5+ years of experience in lighting product development, with a focus on LED technology
- Proficiency in CAD and Solid Works (2D/3D design and schematics)
- Experience working with SAP systems
- Strong understanding of circuit design, photometric performance, and testing methods
- Familiarity with UL and ETL standards
- Hands‑on experience with prototyping and electronic testing tools (multimeter, hi‑pot tester, etc.)
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across cross‑functional teams
Base Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 (based on experience)
