Manufacturing Engineer

This role is responsible for contributing to the creation of engineering solutions by applying basic foundation of a function's principles, theories and concepts. The role includes building relationships with stakeholders, overseeing implementation of manufacturing processes across the product lifecycle, and ensuring the distribution of relevant manufacturing documentation. The role develops and executes reliable and cost-effective manufacturing solutions for products of low to moderate complexity within teams.

The role entails identifying areas for enhancement, optimizing tool availability, and maintaining communication regarding improvements and findings.

Designs portions of engineering solutions, including methods, operation sequences, and processes for the manufacturing of parts, component sub-assemblies, and final assemblies, based on established engineering principles and in accordance with provided specifications and requirements.

Develops understanding and relationship with internal and outsourced partners for product development and manufacturing, and coordinates release of product improvements and/or new products.

Establishes, delivers, and maintains manufacturing processes for new products throughout the product life cycle to drive prioritization and resolution of manufacturing issues.

Develops and distributes manufacturing documentation in support of product design, configuration and build requirements.

Implements and executes established time standards, production area layouts, and requirements for manufacturing tooling and processes for subsystems and portions of new products.

Participates as a member of project team of other manufacturing engineers and internal and outsourced manufacturing partners to develop and execute reliable, cost effective and high quality manufacturing solutions for low-moderate-complex products.

Identifies and addresses potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost, and communicate implementation plans to all relevant levels and functions.

Identifies and solves problems in straightforward situations and analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents, with attention to detail.

Develops and publishes updates on resolutions to the problem areas identified and communicate findings internally, summarizing all results.

Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.

Education & Experience Recommended:
Four-year Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. Typically has 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design and solutions, or a related field.
