RoleSummary
The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in the architecture, design, development, and integration of electrical systems for Clarapath's advanced electro-mechanical medical devices, Section Star™ and Trim Star Pro™. This role is responsible for leading PCB design and review, developing wiring and harness schematics, designing robust power and control systems, and supporting embedded hardware components while ensuring seamless integration across mechanical and software subsystems.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in hardware electrical design, a strong understanding of embedded systems, and the ability to drive technical decisions from concept through production. We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, mentors junior engineers, and views electrical engineering as a core driver of innovation, reliability, and scalability in medical device development.
- Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems for complex electro-mechanical medical devices
- Own PCB design and review, including schematic capture, component selection, layout oversight, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Design and document wiring diagrams, cable assemblies, and electrical harnesses
- Develop and support power distribution, control systems, and signal integrity solutions
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Support embedded hardware development and interface with firmware/software teams on requirements and debugging
- Drive electrical design through prototyping, testing, verification, and production release
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues at the system, board, and component levels
- Author and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, test plans, reports, and design history file (DHF) artifacts
- Ensure designs comply with applicable safety, EMC, and regulatory standards for medical devices
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior electrical engineers
- Support supplier selection, vendor communication, and design reviews with external partners
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within medical devices, robotics, or complex electromechanical systems
- Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design
- Proven experience with PCB design tools and electrical CAD software
- Solid understanding of embedded hardware systems and interfaces (MCUs, sensors, motors, power electronics)
- Experience designing power systems, motor controls, and low-noise signal paths
- Ability to read, create, and review schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Hands-on…
