Environmental Engineer - Water Services

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Environmental Engineer with a focus on water and wastewater systems to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment solutions that help safeguard our natural resources and ensure sustainable water management practices. With a solid foundation in environmental engineering principles, you will collaborate on a variety of challenging projects aimed at improving water quality, enhancing system efficiency, and addressing regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize water and wastewater treatment solutions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Create engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc.
• Review draft designs and reports for regulatory compliance and sign off on completed designs.
• Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs meet location specifications; update design requirements as necessary.
• Perform water quality analyses and modeling.
• Develop white papers and technical documentation; submit for publication to technical journals.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs; review draft proposals for regulatory adherence and best practices.
• Meet with clients to review design needs; attend conferences to promote firm’s products and services.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; mentor and support their development; supervise junior engineers when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
• Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally as required (frequency depends on duty).
• Equivalent directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Expert knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software.
• Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
