Position: Project Manager - (MEP) Mechanical Engineer
Location: New York

Project Engineer (Mechanical) HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical

FSI is a New York City based full-service architecture firm specializing in interior and exterior preservation, restoration, and investigation. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our passionate, collaborative team of professionals and help drive growth.

Candidate Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited university/college.
  • 5–8+ years of professional experience. A BS or 3+ years of professional experience with a MSA/PE license or EIT certification is preferred.
  • Experience with drafting and detailing using AutoCAD (and Revit).
  • Knowledge/experience with NYC building codes and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Ability to observe, evaluate, and document site conditions and compile written reports.
  • Experience with field testing and measurement tools.
  • Well-rounded communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of tangential areas of engineering is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and work alongside colleagues in a multi-disciplinary office environment.
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer building-related mechanical systems in existing and new spaces.
  • Calculate and interpret mechanical loads to inform appropriate solutions.
  • Draft mechanical sets (AutoCAD/Revit).
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients to understand requirements, scope out work, respond to inquiries, and deliver desired outcomes.
  • Perform and oversee field work, such as site inspections, detailing pertinent observations, and completing/reviewing reports and drawings.
