Registered Architect – Lead Architect

Nelson Associates Architectural Engineering (NAAE), a dynamic and well‑established multidisciplinary design firm located in the Quant village of Clinton, NY, is currently seeking a Registered Architect to join our collaborative team. Responsibilities
  • Design and produce construction documents for a variety of commercial, institutional, and specialty building projects.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of construction projects, from initial concept and design development to the final construction document package.
  • Manage projects independently from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, building officials, and internal team members.
  • Handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic setting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Active New York State RA license (or ability to obtain within a short time).
  • Minimum eight years of experience in architectural design and production.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit and other design software is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Solid understanding of building codes, ADA standards, and construction practices.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

We’re looking for a motivated and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic, well‑established, collaborative design firm. You’ll work alongside engineers, architects, and designers on diverse projects.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a variety of building types.
  • Prepare contract documents, cost estimation, and technical reports.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate within a multi‑disciplinary team to ensure design elements are coordinated seamlessly.
Qualifications
  • Valid New York State Professional Engineering license (or eligibility to obtain within a short time).
  • Minimum five years of engineering experience.

Civil Structural Designer/Engineer

Nelson Associates Architectural Engineering is seeking a civil engineer for a potential leadership role. This individual will work as part of the architectural and engineering design group, collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers.

Responsibilities
  • Civil engineering design for commercial, institutional, education, health care, multi‑family housing and related projects.
  • Produce contract documents, plans and specifications.
  • Prepare construction and design cost estimates.
  • Coordinate multi‑discipline project teams (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm).
  • Prepare technical reports including stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP).
  • Review calculations, drawings, and specifications from technical staff.
Qualifications
  • Minimum four‑year degree in civil/structural engineering.
  • Minimum three years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of NYS Building Code and standard construction practice.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and Civil 3D;
    Revit a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
