Scope of RoleHands‑on Maintenance Technician to support thin‑film coating operations, CNC machining, and production machining environment. The right candidate will have significant experience with thin film coating technologies, hardware and associated vacuum systems, and electronics.
Responsibilities- Support the thin‑film coating operation with vacuum equipment and electronics expertise.
- Real‑time troubleshooting of coating issues based on root‑cause assessment.
- Support off‑line improvement projects related to maintenance, uptime, and MTBF.
- Support facility systems as needed.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing to improve process and equipment reliability.
- Support equipment in other departments related to the thin‑film coating operations (e.g., Glass Shop).
- Key success criteria: coating machine uptime and factory overall efficiency (FOE) as defined by the product of yields, cycle time and uptime normalized to theoretical goals.
- Minimum of a 2‑year technical degree and 3+ years experience with high‑vacuum deposition, or 6+ years relevant experience.
- Direct experience with ion sources and electron guns (desirable).
- Direct experience with repair, diagnostics and root‑cause analysis of vacuum coating equipment issues.
- Formal electronics and vacuum training desirable.
- Experience with facility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, and chilled‑water systems desirable.
- Experience using measurement systems as applied to thin film coating production (spectrophotometers, interferometers, oscilloscopes, and other electrical, optical and mechanical test equipment).
- Strong written and oral communication skills; proficiency with MS Office.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and interfaces.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and/or holidays.
Compensation range: $54,200.00 – $81,400.00, depending on experience. Possible eligibility for performance‑based bonus plan.
