Architectural Engineer

Job Description The Position

Designer with 4-8 years of design experience to join our structural and building design team. Responsibilities include minor structural calculations and design as well as general building design to verify building code compliance for layout, life safety, egress, and energy code compliance. Duties include field investigation, design, code verification and preparing plan, elevations, sections, details, and notes to include on contract drawings.

Projects include commercial & residential buildings, infrastructure designs, bridge design, foundations, retaining structures, building assessments, and code studies.

This is a growth position where the successful candidate will be afforded an opportunity to have a leadership role within the firm.

The key skills and qualities for this position include:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Products, Robot Structural Analysis, Microsoft Word & Excel is a plus.
• Have knowledge of Revit for both 3D modeling and construction drawing production is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, plans and elevations.
• Well organized and self-motivated to work in a team-based environment.
• Strong attention to detail and an excellent work ethic.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture with some concentration in structures coursework.
