Location: New York

We are seeking an experienced Energy Engineer to support complex commercial building projects focused on energy efficiency, sustainability, and compliance. This role requires a hands‑on technical expert with strong field experience and the ability to contribute across multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct ASHRAE Level II energy audits for commercial buildings
  • Perform energy savings calculations and cost estimations for energy conservation measures (ECMs)
  • Support Local Law 87 compliance, including auditing and retro-commissioning efforts
  • Analyze building systems and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and decarbonization
  • Review and develop engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Contribute to energy modeling and lifecycle cost analysis
  • Evaluate system performance and ensure implementation of recommended improvements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Extensive hands‑on field experience in commercial buildings
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building energy systems
  • Proven experience with ASHRAE Level II audits and energy analysis
  • Familiarity with NYC Local Law 87 (or similar regulatory frameworks)
  • Ability to perform detailed engineering calculations and technical evaluations
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings and producing reports
Preferred Experience
  • Background in retro-commissioning and building performance optimization
  • Exposure to energy modeling tools and lifecycle cost analysis
  • Understanding of decarbonization strategies and smart building technologies
  • Experience working on large-scale or public‑sector projects
