Energy Engineer

Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated professional to join our Energy Practice Area as an Energy Engineer in our Hauppauge, NY Office. This individual will support the Energy group on a variety of project types while working in a team environment. Responsibilities include providing energy calculation support, field verification, data collection of existing building energy systems, and development of energy assessment reports and studies.

• Data Collection
• Utility Bill Disaggregation
• Field Visits
• Energy Calculations
• Develop Energy Measure Descriptions and scope of work packages
• Work with design team
• Support construction and Sales
• Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects
• Collaboration with Project Managers and other Engineers
• Development of measurement & verification (M&V) plans
• Produce annual M&V reports
• QA/QC

• 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in technical areas (i.e., lighting, HVAC, solar, other renewables).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field is ideal.
• Certified Energy Manager in Training (CEM IT) or other industry related certifications a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software required.
• Building modeling experience, a plus.
• Hands on HVAC and commissioning/retro-commissioning a plus.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks on multiple projects.
• QA/QC of your own assigned tasks and projects.
• Ability to support construction activities during implementation.
• Experience working on energy audits and/or energy related construction projects a huge plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with internal staff and clients.
• Some Travel is required (around 10%).

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000

Salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
