Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated professional to join our Energy Practice Area as an Energy Engineer in our Hauppauge, NY Office. This individual will support the Energy group on a variety of project types while working in a team environment. Responsibilities include providing energy calculation support, field verification, data collection of existing building energy systems, and development of energy assessment reports and studies.
Responsibilities- Data Collection
- Utility Bill Disaggregation
- Field Visits
- Energy Calculations
- Develop Energy Measure Descriptions and scope of work packages
- Work with design team
- Support construction and Sales
- Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects
- Collaboration with Project Managers and other Engineers
- Development of measurement & verification (M&V) plans
- Produce annual M&V reports
- QA/QC
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in technical areas (i.e., lighting, HVAC, solar, other renewables).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field is ideal.
- Certified Energy Manager in Training (CEM IT) or other industry related certifications a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software required.
- Building modeling experience, a plus.
- Hands on HVAC and commissioning/retro-commissioning a plus.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks on multiple projects.
- QA/QC of your own assigned tasks and projects.
- Ability to support construction activities during implementation.
- Experience working on energy audits and/or energy related construction projects a huge plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with internal staff and clients.
- Some Travel is required (around 10%).

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. Salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
