Advanced Technology Engineer – Brookhaven National Laboratory (Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC), Upton, NY

Responsible for designing, testing, and implementing integrated hardware solutions—including equipment racks, electrical instrumentation chassis, general‑purpose I/O enclosures, motion interfaces, electronics racks, and computers—for robust and reliable controls and data acquisition at the experimental stations of NSLS-II.

• Interact with scientists and engineers to identify hardware integration requirements, outline potential solutions, and create project proposals.
• Manage hardware integration projects within DSSI, refining requirements, designing, implementing, testing, and documenting solutions.
• Contribute to larger projects requiring integration, acting as a subject‑matter expert and consulting DSSI teams and facility staff on best practices and system standards.
• Support development across the DSSI technology stack, including hardware drivers, control system software, and user interfaces.
• Maintain electrical safety and compliance with facility standards.

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in control‑system hardware integration or related occupation.
• Proven ability to generate detailed technical documentation—schematics, system drawings, design documentation, and requirements specifications.
• Hands‑on experience with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, digital power supplies, and logic analyzers.

• Annual salary range: $127,300 – $159,700.
• ERAP ELIGIBLE – $1,000
