Civil Design Engineer - focus Bridges

Position Overview

Needed immediately:
Civil Engineer in New York, focused on Bridge Design. The individual in this role supports and assists experienced engineers and other multidisciplinary team members throughout the planning and design phases for regional industrial and commercial projects. As a member of the civil engineering team, the Senior Engineering Designer has a minimum of four years of experience, has passed the FE examination, and reports to a licensed Engineer or Project Manager.

The role involves independent work on moderate to complex projects of moderate to large size.

• Use AutoCAD for pretty much everything – for example, preparing engineering plans, drawings and models.
• Research, evaluate and execute appropriate engineering techniques and code provisions for a wide range of projects with unique needs.
• Prepares drawings and visual aids.
• Observes construction activities.
• Perform erosion control, site grading and other civil/municipal tasks.
• Compile maps, reports and forms.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of four (4) years of civil/municipal engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Ability to perform moderately difficult technical computations and consolidate acquired data.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Micro Station, Civil3D, Revit and/or Open Roads, and proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office.
• Ability to comprehend and carry out oral or written instructions.
• Understanding of construction plans/specifications and their application to public works projects.
