Our client is looking for a Civil Engineer to join their Infrastructure team in York. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and challenging design environment and to build on your portfolio submission to Chartership. The consultancy has a varied project portfolio that extends across the Residential, Commercial, Public, Industrial and Marine sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking Technical and Feasibility studies, FRA's, report writing, drawing up plans and details
  • Developing Detailed Designs from concept to construction to comply with relevant regulations, best practices and guidance
  • Developing SuDS designs to mitigate flood risk and water quality issues
  • Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
  • Coordinating site investigations and analysing data
  • Managing resources efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Liaising effectively with architects, contractors, consultants, statutory authorities, co-workers and clients
  • Developing others including our Trainee Engineers/Technicians & Graduates
Requirements
  • BEng/MEng in Construction/Civil Engineering (preferably)
  • Detailed experience using Micro Drainage and or Civils 3D carrying a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound technical knowledge
  • Prepare sketches, technical reports and specifications
  • Ability to maintain client contact to inform of progress, issues and problems
  • Competent use of Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Detailed understanding and use of Analytical/Design and CAD software
  • Ability to think creatively to resolve design and development problems
