Harris is seeking systems engineers in Rochester NY to work on a dynamic team to develop EO/IR solutions. They will have Systems Engineering responsibilities consisting of the synthesis, definition, analysis, development, integration & test of electro-optic systems for airborne and ground surveillance. Candidate will work closely with cross functional members in engineering, manufacturing, & program management to design, develop & build high performance systems.
Essential Functions:
Design/develop system architectures, define key capabilities and performance requirements
Define total systems design and technology that meet mission requirements
Define system implementation approach and operational concepts
Develop models and architectural guidelines for future technologies
Ensure requirements are met and evaluate performance measures
Perform system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability analyses
Understand and implement systems engineering processes on programs and projects
Create and update essential engineering documents including specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentations
Coordinate with other functional engineers to develop and test products, resolve compatibility and interface problems with other subsystems
Provide timely production support and problem resolution
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering)
DOORS, Jama, and Cameo experience
Control system modeling using Matlab/Simulink
Experience with cyber security
Video transport and encoding (H.264, MISB and SMPTE standards)
Video processing algorithms
Understanding of defense products for the environments and platforms L3

Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities with the ability to resolve conflicting priorities
Strong mechanical and geo-spatial comprehension skills

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $92,500 - $171,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
