Geotechnical Engineer – New York Metro Transportation Group

AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to serve as a technical advisor on transportation projects for our New York Metro Transportation group including NYC, Bloomfield, NJ and Piscataway, NJ office locations. We also have projects in the upstate New York regions including Albany and Buffalo. This role is available immediately.

• Prepare technical reports, specifications and construction documents.
• Evaluate ground conditions and understand their impacts on design and construction.
• Provide guidance to entry level Engineers.
• Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
• Prepare subsurface exploration programs, laboratory assignments and geotechnical reports.
• Perform geotechnical investigations and construction inspections.
• Lead and manage geotechnical engineering investigations.
• Perform pile analysis, slope stability, settlement analysis, ground improvements and seepage analysis.
• Utilize computer software programs such as APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEAP.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural engineers, architects, and environmental specialists.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures for geotechnical projects.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and findings.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members.
