DESIGNER - NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT The Role
We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Designer to join our team. In this role, you’ll support engineers in the New Product Development group by creating 3D models, 2D drawings, and documentation for frame, body, cabin, and other components on electric forklifts. It requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) skills. We value innovative and creative ideas—yes, even during meetings.

- Develop parametric 3D models, drawings, and study files using CREO. Manage files in PDM software.
- Work with a wide range of parts including welded steel assemblies, metal castings, plastics, rubbers, multi-part assemblies, electrical components, and more.
- Conduct engineering checks. Provide data and documentation to engineers for analysis and judgment. Update models and documentation according to the directions as required.
- Diagnose design problems and prepare countermeasure options as needed.
- Ensure drawing quality by considering design intent, materials, quality control characteristics, dimensions, tolerances, product requirements, and clarity.
- Manage parts list (BOM) in PDM and in other engineering documents.
- Create engineering change documentation.
- Follow technical company standards for modeling and drafting.
- Participate in recurring design reviews to uphold design quality and facilitate communication within the group.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, cost, quality, and delivery of new products.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- 4+ years of experience creating models and drawings in CAD software (CREO preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong analytical ability.
- Great documentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills and work effectively with cross-cultural team.
- Material handling, automotive, or heavy equipment design experience
- Proficiency with surface modeling and advanced surface modeling techniques.
This is an in-person role located at our Greene, NY office—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:Salary - $73,840 - $94,667 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
