We are seeking an experienced BMS Field Engineer to support the programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and deployment of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) in commercial construction environments. This role will manage field activities from project startup through completion, including controls programming, graphics development, system integration, commissioning, and coordination with project teams and subcontractors.
The ideal candidate has strong HVAC controls and DDC experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently manage projects while meeting schedule and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Program, configure, and commission BAS/BMS systems based on project specifications and sequences of operation.
- Develop and deploy control graphics, programming files, and front-end configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving controllers, communication networks, sensors, panels, and control devices.
- Perform system integration, calibration, testing, startup, and optimization activities.
- Review project documents, RFIs, and scope requirements to ensure accurate execution.
- Coordinate with project managers, technicians, subcontractors, and other trades.
- Support installation activities and provide technical guidance in the field.
- Modify control programs to improve system performance and energy efficiency.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate progress, issues, and solutions.
- Assist with mentoring and training junior technicians and programmers.
- 5–7+ years of field experience in HVAC controls and building automation.
- Strong experience with DDC systems, BAS/BMS commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret control drawings, mechanical plans, and sequences of operation.
- Knowledge of HVAC mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience supporting commercial construction projects.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Automated Logic systems and commissioning tools.
- Knowledge of WebCTRL or similar BAS platforms.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with EMS/EPMS systems and open‑protocol controls.
- Field circuit debugging and controls integration experience.
Salary Range: $90,000–$130,000 annually, depending on experience.
