Mep Engineer​/Superintendent

Project Executive / Operations Manager

The MEP Engineer/Superintendent is responsible for the field execution, coordination, and quality control of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems throughout the project. This role ensures that installations are performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with design intent, schedule, and NYC code requirements. The individual will collaborate closely with subcontractors, design teams, and operations staff to keep all systems aligned with project goals and milestones.

• Direct day-to-day MEP construction activities, ensuring proper sequencing, layout, and installation per approved drawings and specifications.
• Verify alignment of MEP work with structural and architectural components, addressing conflicts through proactive communication and field adjustments.
• Inspect installations for compliance with contract documents, NYC codes, and manufacturer standards, document deficiencies and coordinate timely resolution.
• Manage the project schedule by monitoring progress of MEP trades, reporting potential delays, and assisting in the development of recovery plans when needed.
• Enforce site safety policies, conduct daily checks of MEP work zones, and ensure all subcontractors follow safe work practices.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and coordination models to confirm constructability and identify potential conflicts prior to installation.
• Manage pre-functional testing, system start-up, and final commissioning efforts, ensuring all systems meet performance criteria.
• Maintain daily field reports, inspection logs, as-built documentation, and redline drawings.
• Work directly with design engineers, subcontractors, and the Project Manager to troubleshoot field challenges and implement efficient solutions.
• Compile Operations and maintenance manuals, testing reports, and system certifications to support closeout and owner handover.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field experience .
• 5+ years of experience with MEP systems in high-rise or complex renovation projects (NYC experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of NYC DOB, FDNY, and Con Edison inspection and approval processes.
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Revit/Navisworks preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills with a hands-on, field-oriented mindset.
