HDR is seeking a highly motivated Transit Project Manager to support HDR's Transit Market Sector. This role will provide project management and technical services to transit agency clients, including pursuing, managing, and delivering rail/transit projects.
Responsibilities- Take responsibility for all aspects of client and design‑team management of commuter and rail transit projects.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and monitor all aspects of multidisciplinary projects with high technical complexity.
- Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
- Serve as Project Manager on small, medium, and large transportation projects.
- Act as point of contact between the client and HDR, enhancing client relationships; coordinate contractual and design meetings.
- Prepare detailed transit and rail engineering designs.
- Participate in proposal development and marketing activities as a seller‑doer pursuit champion or support role.
- Implement QA/QC procedures and perform detailed QC reviews of transit projects.
- Coordinate staffing, workload, and project timelines with Transit Market Sector Leader and area managers.
- Mentor less‑experienced Project Managers and execute training as per strategic plans.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 7 years of related experience.
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE or similar) license recognized in the location of the position.
- MS Office and MS Project experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Commitment to employee‑owned culture.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States with valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Minimum 10 years of experience within the transit/rail engineering industry managing multidisciplinary projects.
- Construction inspection or construction management experience.
- Knowledge of FTA and transit project engineering requirements.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Ability to manage large transit program/projects and handle multiple assignments.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Micro Station, Open Roads/Open Rail, Primavera P3 or Sure Trak, and Prolog.
- Ability to travel for client meetings, site visits, field assessments, and construction management.
