Project OverviewBechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. M&T is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets. In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's control systems aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure unique and complex requirements of a project's control systems aspects are met.
Major Responsibilities- Supervises and provides technical direction to subordinate engineers, scientists, specialists, designers and drafters as assigned.
- Maintains contacts with client representatives as directed, with suppliers, appropriate field personnel, Project Engineers, and Engineering disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project or assignment and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements.
- Coordination of Engineering and Construction/Procurement activities, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.
- Performance of select engineering tasks, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.
- Ensuring that facilities and systems are installed in accordance with the engineering specifications and requirements.
- Coordinates with the designer of record and provides field support during construction.
- Ensures design documents reflect as-built conditions.
- Manages the specification of construction hold points and inspection requirements.
- Coordinates resolution of field questions related to field change notices and design change notices.
- Ensures Resident Engineering tasks are completed within budget and ensures trends are processed for facility scope changes.
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Requires extensive technical knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineering including inline and offline instrumentation, control valves, analyzers, sensors, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
