SENIOR ENGINEERING DESIGNER- WATER & WASTEWATER Why This Role Matters:
As the Sr Engineering Designer
- Water &Wastewater, you will provide technical support to experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams during the planning, design, and development of regional municipal, industrial and commercial projects. As a member of the civil engineering team, you have a minimum of four years of relevant experience and have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination. Reporting to a licensed Professional Engineer or Project Manager, this role works independently on moderately complex to complex projects ranging from moderate to large in size, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
You'll Do:
- Prepare design models, engineering plans & documents using Civil 3D.
- Follow Corporate Civil CAD Standards while creating design drawings.
- Collaborate, when necessary, with other CPL disciplines on projects.
- Research, evaluate and execute appropriate engineering techniques and code provisions for a wide range of projects with unique needs.
- Prepare conceptual drawings and report graphics.
- Observe and report on construction activities.
- Ensure that submittal drawings are accurate, consistent and follow standards.
- You earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- You’ve got a minimum of four (4) years of civil/municipal engineering experience.
- You are an Engineer in Training (EIT)
- You have a valid driver’s license and a willingness to periodically use your own vehicle for travel to job sites (mileage reimbursable).
- You can perform moderately difficult technical computations and consolidate acquired data.
- You design using Civil 3D tools including Grading, Alignments, Profiles, Corridors, Pipe Networks, and can satisfactorily pass our intermediate on-line assessment. Proof of prior Civil 3D course completion a plus.
- You have a working knowledge of HydroCAD, Sewer GEMS, Water GEMS or equivalent.
- You are proficient utilizing Microsoft Office products.
- You have a willingness and initiative to continually improve your engineering and CAD skills, whether on your own or via CPL's learning management system (LMS).
- You can comprehend and carry out oral or written instructions.
