Location: New York

Our client are looking to bring on a Performance (M&V Engineer) to support the development and execution of Measurement & Verification (M&V) activities for energy efficiency and energy performance projects. This role will be responsible for quantifying and validating energy savings through data analysis, field measurements, savings calculations, and reporting in support of Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs) and Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESCs).

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in energy engineering, analytics, and building systems, along with familiarity with industry-standard M&V methodologies including IPMVP and FEMP guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Measurement & Verification (M&V) Plans to quantify and verify energy savings associated with energy conservation measures (ECMs).
  • Coordinate and perform field measurements, including power, flow, temperature, combustion efficiency, and data logger monitoring.
  • Identify critical performance parameters, establish measurement strategies, and determine appropriate sampling methodologies.
  • Analyze utility, operational, and trend data to evaluate building and system performance.
  • Review and validate energy savings calculations, engineering assumptions, and energy models.
  • Support M&V activities for HVAC systems, controls, building automation systems (BAS), lighting, renewable energy systems, and other energy conservation measures.
  • Monitor performance of ECMs utilizing utility meter data, trend logs, and building management systems.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual M&V reports documenting project performance and verified savings.
  • Develop M&V plans in accordance with IPMVP, FEMP, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Contribute to Investment Grade Audit (IGA) reports and technical deliverables.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Measurement & Verification (M&V), Energy Engineering, Energy Analytics, Building Performance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies and building systems.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and interpreting operational performance trends.
  • Familiarity with IPMVP and FEMP M&V methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
