Salary Range: $120,000 to $180,000 annually

An established manufacturer of end-of-line packaging automation equipment is seeking a Senior Controls Engineering Director to lead its controls and automation engineering function.

This position provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and technical governance for a team supporting complex capital equipment and industrial automation projects. The Director will establish engineering standards, guide technology strategy, oversee project execution, develop engineering talent, and ensure controls capabilities remain aligned with the organization’s operational and growth objectives.

The ideal candidate has progressed from a hands-on controls or electrical engineering background into a senior engineering leadership role within a design-build capital equipment environment.

• sBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, controls engineering, or a related technical fiel
• dAt least 10 years of engineering experience within a design-build capital equipment or industrial machinery environmen
• tProfessional background as a controls engineer, electrical engineer, automation engineer, or similar technical specialis
• tAt least five years of direct people-management experience leading engineering team
• sExperience overseeing multiple complex engineering projects simultaneousl
• yExperience establishing engineering standards, processes, and technical governanc
• eExperience managing departmental budgets and engineering resource
• sStrong knowledge of industrial automation architecture, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, robotics, and machine control
• sExperience selecting and designing electrical hardware used to control and monitor industrial machinery or manufacturing processe
• sExperience interpreting and producing electrical and pneumatic schematic
• sAbility to travel approximately 15% to 20%, including occasional international trave
• lAbility to maintain any legally required documentation for assigned business trave

• sExperience working directly with customers during factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, or technical escalation
