Lead Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer

MG Engineering D.P.C. seeks a Lead Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer to oversee design and coordination of building systems for commercial, residential, hospitality, institutional, and mixed-use projects. In this role, you will develop plumbing and fire protection layouts, perform calculations, ensure code and NFPA compliance, and prepare detailed construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and technology teams, interface with clients, and mentor junior designers in a collaborative, mid-sized, consulting environment with opportunities to work on complex, high-profile projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing and fire protection system design for commercial, residential, hospitality, institutional, and mixed-use projects
• Develop layouts, sizing, and hydraulic calculations ensuring local code and NFPA compliance
• Prepare coordinated Revit and Auto
• CAD drawings and detailed construction documents
• Collaborate with internal mechanical, electrical, and technology teams to deliver integrated designs
• Interface with clients, architects, and contractors to clarify requirements and resolve design issues
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and support construction administration activities
• Mentor and guide junior designers, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness
• Contribute to project planning, schedules, and resource allocation with project managers
