Programs Fire Protection Engineer

Constellation Energy is seeking a Fire Protection Programs Engineer to support safe and reliable operations across our energy facilities. In this role, you will develop, implement, and maintain fire protection programs for generation and utility assets, ensuring compliance with NFPA, OSHA, NRC, and local codes. Responsibilities include performing risk assessments, reviewing designs and modifications, overseeing inspections and testing of fire detection and suppression systems, and resolving fire protection issues.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and EHS teams, support incident investigations, manage documentation, and drive continuous improvement in fire and life safety performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fire protection programs for energy generation and utility facilities
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, NRC, and local fire and building codes
• Perform fire risk and hazard assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
• Review designs, plant modifications, and equipment changes for fire protection impacts
• Oversee inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems
• Support incident investigations and root cause analysis related to fire and life safety
• Prepare and maintain fire protection documentation, procedures, and reports
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and EHS teams on fire safety initiatives
• Provide technical guidance and training on fire protection requirements
• Drive continuous improvement in fire and life safety performance across sites
