Constellation Energy is seeking a Programs Fire Protection Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain fire protection programs across our utility facilities. In this role, you will design and review fire detection and suppression systems, perform code and standards compliance evaluations, and support plant modifications to ensure protection of personnel, assets, and operations. You will conduct risk assessments, analyze fire hazards, and support regulatory inspections and audits.
Collaborating with operations, safety, and engineering teams, you will provide technical guidance, author procedures, and deliver training. This position offers the opportunity to support sustainable energy projects while enhancing safety and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain fire protection programs and procedures for utility facilities
- Design, review, and optimize fire detection and suppression systems
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and other applicable fire and safety codes
- Conduct fire hazard and risk assessments for plants and projects
- Support regulatory inspections, audits, and documentation responses
- Provide technical guidance to operations, maintenance, and project teams
- Support plant modifications and capital projects with fire protection input
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and drawings related to fire protection
- Deliver training and awareness on fire safety and emergency response
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety and reliability
