Mechanical Designer

This position supports the mechanical development of water heaters for a new water heater development project. The role focuses on completing and refining mechanical designs, including heat exchanger concepts, to meet development timelines.

• Develop mechanical designs for water heaters and components to support new product development.
• Create, modify, and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Solid Works.
• Manage design revisions and documentation control using Solid Works PDM.
• Execute multiple design paths in parallel to support aggressive development timelines and evolving project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project leadership to align designs with technical direction and program goals.
• Support design reviews and technical discussions by preparing models, drawings, and related documentation.
• Adhere to engineering standards, best practices, and internal design processes throughout development activities.

• Proficiency in Solid Works for mechanical design, including parts, assemblies, and drawings.
• Working knowledge of Solid Works PDM for document control and version management.
• Strong understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles.
• Ability to manage multiple design tasks in a fast-paced development environment.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with configurations and large assemblies.
• Ability to adjust and design sheet metal using Solid Works.

The position is based in Blauvelt, NY, working the 1st shift starting at 7:00am or 7:30am. This role offers a great opportunity for candidates with over 3 years of experience to gain valuable hands-on skills in a manufacturing setting. Benefits include accrued sick time and six paid holidays.

This is a Contract position based out of Blauvelt, NY.

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
