Mechanical Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a well-established engineering consulting firm specializing in commercial, institutional, and industrial facility design projects. This is a direct hire opportunity in the DMV
. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.

• Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems for a variety of facility projects.
• Perform engineering calculations, system layouts, and technical analyses.
• Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project life cycles.
• Support construction administration activities, including site visits and design reviews.
• Resolve technical challenges and ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• 3-5+ years of mechanical engineering or mechanical design experience.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, building systems, or facility design projects.
• PE license is highly preferred but not required.
• Candidates without a PE license may be considered for a Senior Mechanical Designer title.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and construction documents.
• Stable work history with demonstrated career progression.
• Ability to travel occasionally (approximately once every 1-2 months).

• Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 (3-5 years of experience)
• Entry-Level Compensation: Starting around $80,000 for new graduates
