In this role, you'll support work within project budgets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You'll contribute to projects connected to hospitality, mixed-use, office/commercial, and broader MEP work in a team with strong aviation, terminal, and urban interiors experience.

- Work Schedule:
Full-time hybrid, 10-12 week summer program - Program Length: 10-12 week summer program
- Assist with fire protection system design for projects in accordance with code and standards.
- Research commercially available equipment and supporting resources.
- Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and document permanent record files.
- Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
- Prepare and issue addendum information.
- Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred.
- Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.
- Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
Dense urban MEP and fire protection coordination for airports, terminals, retail and office fit-outs, and landlord infrastructure work.
Active aviation work tied to JFK Terminal 6 and other airport programs.
Additional aviation work at JFK T5/T8, LGA, BWI, SAN, SEA, and related advertising, telecom, and terminal packages.
Heavy New York-area retail, office, restaurant, and tenant review work.
Frequent mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, plus recurring telecom, AV, lighting, and security coordination.
Recent work includes JFK Terminal 6 Stage 3 2026, Transportation / Aviation, and Marriott Tribute Hotel / Washington, DC / New Marriott Tribute Hotel in DC, Hospitality.
