MG Engineering D.P.C., a New York-based consulting engineering firm, seeks a Lead Electrical Designer to drive building systems design for commercial, residential, hospitality, institutional, and mixed-use projects. In this role, you'll lead electrical power, lighting, life safety, and low-voltage system design, produce drawings and specifications, and coordinate closely with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology teams. You will mentor junior staff, interface with clients, support construction administration, and help deliver efficient, innovative, and code-compliant electrical solutions on complex, high-profile projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for commercial, residential, hospitality, institutional, and mixed-use projects
- Develop electrical power, lighting, life safety, and low-voltage system layouts
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations using Auto
- CAD and Revit
- Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology disciplines
- Ensure designs meet NEC, local codes, and client standards
- Mentor and review work of junior electrical designers and engineers
- Participate in client meetings and present technical design solutions
- Support construction administration, RFIs, submittal reviews, and site visits
- Contribute to project planning, schedules, and quality control processes
