The LiRo Group is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team within our Engineering & Architecture practice. Based in our Syosset, NY area offices, you will design building plumbing, fire protection, and utility systems for high profile urban infrastructure and facility projects. Responsibilities include system design and calculations, CAD/BIM coordination, specifications, and construction support. At LiRo, you'll collaborate in a culture of teamwork, integrity, and innovation with strong opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and involvement in impactful community and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Design plumbing, domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas systems for building and infrastructure projects
- Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and equipment selection
- Prepare drawings, models, and details using Auto
- CAD and/or Revit
- Develop technical specifications and design reports
- Coordinate designs with structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction
- Conduct site visits, field surveys, and punch list inspections
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (IPC, NYC Plumbing Code, NFPA, etc.)
- Support project managers with schedules, estimates, and client deliverables
- Participate in quality control reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
