Superior Metals Manufacturing seeks a Technical Director to lead production technology, process optimization, and equipment reliability across our metal fabrication operations. This role oversees plant engineering, automation, and tooling, driving quality, safety, and efficiency. The Technical Director will guide capital projects, evaluate new manufacturing technologies, and support root-cause problem solving on the shop floor. Partnering with operations, quality, and safety teams, this leader will mentor engineers and technicians, standardize best practices, and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead plant engineering, production technology, and process optimization initiatives
- Oversee equipment reliability, maintenance strategies, and automation projects
- Direct capital projects from justification through implementation and commissioning
- Evaluate and implement new metal fabrication, machining, and finishing technologies
- Drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, throughput, and cost
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues
- Standardize technical best practices, procedures, and documentation
- Collaborate with operations, quality, and safety to meet customer requirements
- Mentor and develop engineers, technicians, and technical leads
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications
