Sr. Mechanical Engineer – GFT
Location: New York, NY
Employment Status: Full-Time
Salary Range: $150,000 – $190,000 (dependent on experience and location)

Hours:
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Lead mechanical designs for a diverse portfolio spanning K‑12, higher education, federal, aviation, food & beverage, and transportation projects. Focus on energy‑efficient power systems, HVAC, plumbing, and building automation to create sustainable building solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Survey and study building mechanical equipment and systems.
- Design HVAC systems, building automation systems, and plumbing.
- Provide technical direction to mechanical designers and technicians.
- Write progress reports and project specifications.
- Manage projects and proactively identify and resolve problems.
- Coordinate and verify project deliverables.
- Participate in business development meetings with prospective clients, proposal preparation and delivery, and general client interaction.
- B.S. or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- P.E. license.
- 10+ years of independent design experience for HVAC systems in new and renovated facilities, including hydronic and steam boiler plants, chiller plants, terminal unit systems, distribution systems, and control systems.
- 5+ years of experience using energy modeling and heat‑load software.
- Strong understanding of psychometrics, mechanical building codes, energy codes, and construction standards.
- Proficiency with DDC controls, controls design, and operation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project Management experience.
- Revit experience with Architectural/MEP packages and BIM 360.
- Plumbing experience.
