Job Summary

The Project Engineer II supports the technical execution of assigned utility-scale renewable energy projects from late-stage development through construction, commissioning, and turnover to Operations. Working independently within established standards and with guidance on more complex matters, this role coordinates with internal stakeholders, EPC contractors, utilities, consultants, and equipment suppliers to help deliver projects safely, on schedule, on budget, and in accordance with TERP’s technical requirements.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The Project Engineer manages defined engineering work streams, applies sound professional judgment, escalates significant risks and decisions, and contributes project experience and lessons learned to improve engineering practices.

Note:

For highly qualified candidates who demonstrate significant relevant experience and a strong record of project leadership, consideration may be given to placement as a Senior Project Engineer. Compensation and responsibilities would be aligned with the appropriate level of experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities Project Engineering & Execution
  • Manage assigned technical work streams or projects from development handoff through commercial operation, coordinating activities, schedules, deliverables, and action items.
  • Apply TERP engineering standards and project requirements to day-to-day technical decisions; elevate material deviations, risks, and decisions to project leadership.
  • Support pre-construction activities, including technical risk assessments, layout and design reviews, constructability evaluations, and cost input.
  • Review and coordinate EPC design deliverables at key design stages (30/60/90/IFC/IFP/As-Built), document comments, and track responses and closeout.
Engineering Standards & Compliance
  • Execute work in accordance with TERP engineering procedures, technical specifications, quality requirements, and document-control practices.
  • Provide project feedback, lessons learned, and technical input to support updates to engineering standards and design criteria.
  • Support compliance with applicable ISO, NERC, utility, permitting, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
