IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering New Graduate in New York, NY. This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one.

You will assist with engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design while supporting project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will also contribute to transportation, planning, and landscape architecture work across the team’s market focus, delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What You'll DoPerform basic civil calculations, including hydraulic, traffic, piling or rebar, and site earthwork balancing calculations.

Assist with engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design.

Support the design of water and sewer systems for smaller private and larger municipal systems.

Assist with grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential site plans.

Gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build client relationships through professional communication.

Support consulting projects through project planning, scheduling, and design-progress documentation.

Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.

Participate in quality control processes to help ensure designs meet company, industry, and client requirements.

Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and civil engineering best practices while contributing to research and innovation efforts.

Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance, apply state and local design criteria, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and work within project budgets to help meet project goals and client expectations.

What You'll Bring Required Education  and Experience Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required

Skills and Abilities

Basic skills or knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3

Dsoftware and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges

Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Preferred

Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Engineer in Training (EIT) License preferred

Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds

Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull

Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
